The Philippine Motocross team is now ready to face the heat on Friday’s FIM Asian Championship race.

Kenneth San Andres, together with the other members of the Philippine Team namely, JC Rellosa, who race on the last Asian Mongolia race; Jon Jon Adlawan, top PSR Team in Cebu; Jimboy Marcelo, Jenzen Manuel and along with other Filipino riders will be racing for the MX2 class. Jerick Mitra who won the last Mongolian race with the Orbe brothers - Patrick and Jacob, will be riding with the Asian kids for the MX85 class.

On an interview with Kenneth San Andres, Jerick Mitra, Patrick Orbe and Jacob Orbe last Sunday, they quoted:

KSA: “I feel prepared specially that my injured wrist was almost healed compared to round 7. Hopefully everyone from the Philippine team will get in. Please support us. Every time the crowd cheers, it boosts our morale”

JM: “ We’ll do our best to give honor to our country. I hope you will support us”

PO: “Strive to earn the best position. Don’t take chances. At the end of the day, what’s important is you did your best, plus you gain new foreign friends”

JO: “In my opinion, I consider 85 as sort of a new adventure, meaning, you will push yourself to attain what was already within your arm’s reach, at the same time, enjoying it. For now, I feel I’m riding faster as compared to the last Asian. Please watch the race. I’m sure you’ll be amazed at how extremely talented all the riders are. To my brother, I wish you all the best to the race”

According to NAMSSA President Macky Carapiet, expected foreign countries who will be participating on tentative category entries are:

Thailand: MX85 and MX2 category
Indonesia: MX85, MX65 (with their number one rider, Aep Dadangon MX2)
Australia: MX85
Japan: MX2 rider Takeshi Tabuchi (former Yamaha factory rider and instructor)
Iran: MX2 rider Amir Malkpour (placed 3rd on the recent Mongolian Race)
Russia: MX2 rider Eugene Golushko (placed 2nd on the recent Mongolian Race)

Foreign guest officials are Judge/Jury Kraitos Wongsawan from Thailand, member Greg Perez from Guam, U.S.A., Hossein Shariari from Iran and consultant Bruce Wilkinson from Australia.

Seven tear-offs, position 7 in round 7

"Tough luck", other may say of ace rider Kenneth San Andres, who was previously 2nd on both the first motos' Friday night. By Saturday, San Andres' ultimately topped the pro open class on the 2nd moto after catching-up on Yuzon of the Speedwordl Track's position 7 jump. Bearing number 7 on his bike, San Andres managed to win consuming 7 tear-offs due to the Saturday rain.

San Andres took all the holeshots on both motos' of pro open and pro 125 classes. But after leading the pack of pro riders on several laps, San Andres's previous right wrist injury causes him to slow down. "This is very difficult for any rider since the bikes throttle is in the control of the right hand," according to his father and coach Jun-jun San Andres. In spite of this disadvantage, San Andres won the pro open class and place 2nd on the pro 125 class.
